On a rainy Tuesday, Mia found an old umbrella in her grandma’s attic. It looked ordinary, but when she opened it, something amazing happened – the umbrella turned upside-down and began to float!
Mia grabbed the handle and whoosh! She was lifted off the ground. Out the window they flew, over rooftops and treetops. Rain pitter-pattered on the inside of the umbrella, but Mia stayed dry underneath.
They soared past surprised birds and through fluffy clouds. Mia giggled as she steered the umbrella like a boat in the sky. She waved at people below, who rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind spun them around. Mia held on tight as they tumbled through the air. They landed with a splash in a pond in the park.
As Mia climbed out, she saw a family of ducks looking at her curiously. “Would you like a ride?” she asked. The ducks quacked excitedly and hopped into the upside-down umbrella.
Mia pushed the umbrella-boat around the pond, giving the ducks a tour. Other kids in the park watched in amazement. Soon, there was a line of children waiting for umbrella-boat rides.
For the rest of the rainy day, Mia ferried kids and ducks around the pond. Everyone had so much fun that they forgot to be gloomy about the weather.
As the sun began to set, Mia said goodbye to her new friends and flew the umbrella home. She couldn’t wait to tell Grandma about her adventure.
From that day on, Mia always looked forward to rainy days. And if you ever see an upside-down umbrella floating by on a rainy day, wave hello – it might just be Mia off on another adventure!
