In a sky full of fluffy white clouds, there lived a grumpy grey cloud named Nimbus. He always frowned and rumbled with thunder, scaring the other clouds away.
One day, a cheerful little cloud named Wisp floated by. “Why are you so grumpy, Nimbus?” she asked.
“Because I’m grey and full of rain,” Nimbus grumbled. “Nobody likes me.”
Wisp smiled. “But rain is wonderful! Come with me, I’ll show you.”
Reluctantly, Nimbus followed Wisp down to Earth. They floated over a dry, brown field.
“Look how thirsty the plants are,” Wisp said. “Why don’t you give them some rain?”
Nimbus hesitated, then let a few raindrops fall. To his surprise, the plants immediately perked up, their leaves turning a vibrant green.
Encouraged, Nimbus and Wisp visited more places. They rained on a hot city, cooling it down and making children laugh as they splashed in puddles. They filled a stream where fish were struggling in shallow water. They even helped put out a small forest fire.
Everywhere they went, Nimbus saw how much good his rain could do. He started to feel lighter and happier.
As they returned to the sky, Nimbus noticed his color had changed. He was now a soft, pleasant blue-grey.
“See?” Wisp said. “Your rain brings life and joy. That’s something to smile about!”
From that day on, Nimbus was known as the Helpful Rain Cloud. He still rumbled sometimes, but now it was with laughter as he showered the Earth with his special gift.
Remember, even on rainy days, there’s a happy cloud up there doing its important job. So next time it rains, think of Nimbus and smile!
