The fridge door opened, a slice of light,
And the veggies decided to take flight.
Carrots grew legs, potatoes grew arms,
Lettuce sprouted wings – veggie charms!
Broccoli was their fearless leader,
“To freedom!” he cried, quite the pleader.
Tomatoes rolled out like bouncy balls,
While cucumber slid down the kitchen walls.
The corn popped himself right out of his husk,
Peas shot from their pods with vigor and busk.
Onions made everyone cry as they passed,
Even the spinach, usually so classed.
They raided the pantry, ate all the dip,
Then hijacked a toy car for their grand trip.
But their getaway was cut short, you see,
By a very confused family ready for tea.
Now vegetables behave in our home, it’s true,
But sometimes I swear I see a carrot wink at you!
