The crayons in my box, one night,
Decided they would take a flight.
Red was bored of coloring fire,
Blue was tired, about to retire.
Green said, “Let’s go color the world!”
And out of the box, they all unfurled.
Yellow drew stars up in the sky,
While Purple colored butterflies.
Orange rolled across the floor,
Drew carrots, pumpkins, and much more.
Pink gave clouds a rosy hue,
Brown colored tree trunks, strong and true.
Black outlined shapes with care,
White added sparkle everywhere.
They colored, scribbled, had such fun,
Until they saw the rising sun.
Quickly they returned to bed,
Back in the box, they hid their heads.
I woke to find a rainbow scene,
And wondered, “Is this all a dream?”
