In the town of Cleanlyland, germs were not welcome. Everyone washed their hands a hundred times a day, and they frowned upon sneezes and sniffles.
But one day, a very unusual germ named Giggles floated into town. Unlike other germs, Giggles didn’t want to make people sick. He just wanted to make them laugh!
Giggles first landed on Mr. Grouchypants, the grumpiest man in town. As soon as Giggles touched him, Mr. Grouchypants let out a big, unexpected laugh.
“Oh my!” Mr. Grouchypants chuckled. “I haven’t laughed like that in years!”
Giggles bounced from person to person. Soon, the whole town was in stitches!
The mailman giggled as he delivered letters. The teacher snorted with laughter while writing on the blackboard. Even the serious Mayor couldn’t stop chuckling during her important speech.
The local doctor, Dr. Seriousface, was alarmed. “This must be a new kind of germ!” he declared. “Everyone, start washing your hands right away!”
But no matter how much they washed, the laughter wouldn’t go away. In fact, the soap bubbles only made everyone laugh harder!
The town’s Clean Team was called in. They marched down the streets with giant vacuum cleaners, trying to suck up the giggly germ. But Giggles was too quick! He bounced and rolled, leaving a trail of laughter behind him.
Finally, Dr. Seriousface caught Giggles in a jar. “Aha!” he said. “Now we’ll see what you’re made of, you troublemaking germ!”
But when he looked through his microscope, he saw that Giggles was made of pure happiness. The little germ smiled and waved, and suddenly, Dr. Seriousface burst out laughing too.
“You know what?” Dr. Seriousface said, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes. “I think this is one germ we should keep around!”
From that day on, Cleanlyland became Gigglyville. People still washed their hands, but they also made sure to laugh every day. And Giggles? He was given a special job: Chief Happiness Officer of Gigglyville!
So remember, sometimes the best medicine is a good laugh. And who knows? Maybe Giggles will pay you a visit tonight! Sweet dreams, and don’t forget to giggle!
